Left custom frame measures 24.5" x 31" in size and features a Leaf Executive Collection 1/1 encapsulated cut that has been hand-signed and inscribed in black pen by Harry Houdini (D. 1926). Right custom frame measures 15" x 18.5" in size and features a cut that has been hand-signed in blue felt-tip pen by Dorothy Young (D. 2011).

Harry Houdini was born Erik Weiss in Budapest, Hungary on March 24th, 1874. His family immigrated to the US in 1878. As a youngster, Erik was a skilled athlete demonstrating tremendous ability as an acrobat and cross country runner. Both attributes helped him reach the highest level as an illusionist, escape artist, and unparalleled magician.

Thousands around the world came to see his death defying tricks, which only became more difficult as he grew more skilled.

He was America and the world's first super hero. Assistants were sworn to secrecy and had to sign letters of nondisclosure.

Houdini's last assistant in 1925 and 26, was a young woman aged 18, named Dorothy Young. She is shown on stage with Harry Houdini performing his famed "1950 radio stunt." She left his employ 6 months before his death in Detroit at the age of 52. Since he made additional fame debunking spiritualists, it's ironic he died on Halloween, (October 31st) 1926.

Houdini's autograph and dated signature are encapsulated in a Leaf Executive Cut 1/1. This card is flush mounted into a museum quality display meant to be enjoyed for generations. There is an iconic photo and poster topping two first day covers and Houdini stamps, a plaque with his name and vital statistics, and a plaque with three of his famous quotes. Houdini's autograph is one of the top five most desired autographs of the 20th century. People still see a friend do something amazing and say, "Wow, you must be Houdini."

Offered additionally, is a fine framed piece of Dorothy Young, his last assistant. Her signature is part of a full letter featuring a fan's autograph request, a dictated reply, and her personal signature. The letter floats between the mats of her display. A photo is included with her authenticity. She lived from May 3rd, 1907-March 20th, 2011. She is pictured on stage with Harry Houdini and was the last surviving member of his performing group.

The lot / autograph(s) includes an official James Spence Authentication (JSA) hologram and matching COA as well as authenticated and encapsulated by Leaf for authenticity purposes.
