Offered is a triple matted and museum quality frame and glass to house the 20" by 33" display of a PSA/DNA encapsulated envelope signed by General,George S. Patton Jr. The signature is graded 6 Ex-Mt.

Within the display are a George Patton Historical Stamps of America clear window stamp. It's description is included in the photos, an authentic World War 2 Third Army patch, three photos of Lt. General Patton. Two depicting him in areas of his early operating locations, the larger one in Tunisia, the smaller one in Sicily and than the color portrait of Patton in uniform.

There is a replica of the card handed out to each member of the 3rd Army at Christmas time. On the visible side is a Christmas wish to his soldiers. The reverse has this prayer typical of the pious and confident soldier Patton was. In total;

Almighty and merciful Father, we humbly beseech Thee of Thy great goodness to restrain these immoderate rains with which we've had to contend. Grant us fair weather for Battle. Graciously hearken to us soldiers who call upon Thee that armed with Thy power we may advance from victory to victory and crush the oppression and wickedness of our enemies and establish Thy justice among men and nations. Amen

This was offered at Christmas time as the visible side shows. It was just before the Battle of the Bulge and shows a determined Patton ready to forge ahead.

An extremely rare envelope with Lt. General George S. Patton Jr. signature as Third Army censor, serves as the centerpiece of the display. There are few surviving examples of this type of offering, probably none this fine. The envelope is stamped September 3rd, 1944, just short of three months after D-day and finds Patton preparing for Operation Market Garden, a Battle excluding him for the most part and run by the British. It was an almost total failure and served to stop a rapidly advancing Patton and possibly extending the war by months. Bastogne and the Battle of the Bulge at Christmas time were to follow. These were significant victories for the allies. Lt. General GS Patton Jr. is known historically as one of our most innovative and successful commanders. He was truly feared by the enemy and sometimes by his own men. The quotes offered in the display relate the gist of his character.

"Lead me, follow me, or get out of my way."

It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather, we should thank God that such men lived.
