Cy Young is the MLB all time wins leader with 511 victories. Young played from 1890 - 1911 and was a workhorse, even by early 1900 standards. Young also holds the major league baseball records for innings pitched and complete games. Cy Young was a member of the second Baseball Hall of Fame class in 1937. He was always considered one of the best pitchers in baseball history, so much so, that the annual, award for being the best pitcher in baseball, created in 1956, was named after Young.
