Brian Wilson released his ode to Old California on September 2, 2009, with his 8th solo studio album called “That Lucky Old Sun”. It was co-written with his “Smile” co-writer Van Dyke Parks and touring band member Scott Bennett. It reached #21 on his Billboard Charts. Brian’s wife Melinda contacted “The Painter of Paradise”, Mr. Dan Mackin., to do a painting based on this album. Several sketches were done, and one was selected by Brian and Melinda. The original painting used to create this giclee was 4 feet high by 6 feet wide. The painting was not used for the album as deadlines were missed, but it remains a tribute to a beautiful album and the state where both Brian and Dan grew up – California.

About Dan Mackin:

Dan Mackin is a celebrated artist who has been working as an artist for more than 30 years.
