The Bell Challenge in Quebec in October 1995 was Serena Williams' first professional tournament. She lost in the first round of qualifying, winning just two games. She didn't play in any professional events the next year, and it wasn't until the end of 1997 when she would take the court in a professional event at the Ameritech Cup in Chicago. She began the tournament ranked No. 304 in the world and then proceeded to beat two top-10 opponents in Mary Pierce (No. 7) and Monica Seles (No. 4). Her first career win on the WTA tour was in the Paris Open on 2/28/99. Less than a decade later, she won her 72nd singles title and 23rd Grand Slam singles title at the 2017 Australian Open. It's been quite a career for a woman who is still going strong. This unique memorabilia items features an autographed designed image along with a practice session tennis ball housed in an acrylic curve display.
