Before he came to the NBA and revolutionized the game of basketball itself, Julius Erving earned his reputation as a dynamic and creative championship player in the ABA. Nicknamed "The Doctor" because of the way he operated on the floor, Erving changed the game with smooth moves, graceful finishes, and quiet intensity. He played for the Virginia Squires and New York Nets in his ABA career, earning three league MVP awards while being an All-Star and All-Pro in all five of his ABA seasons. He was chosen as the ABA's all-time Most Valuable Player. The league played with this red, white and blue ball as a symbol of its creativity and unique platform for professional basketball. Erving has autographed this limited edition (32) Spalding ABA basketball in silver paint pen. His signature is deemed authentic by virtue of Upper Deck Authenticated's Five-Step Process.
