Wayne Gretzky Signed Kings Captain Jersey (UDA COA)

Stanley Cup 100th Anniversary Patch

Mitchell & Ness on-ice style captain's jersey. Everything sewn on. Hand-signed in silver paint pen by Wayne Gretzky (Los Angeles Kings, HOF).

Wayne Gretzky began the 1988-89 NHL season as a member of the Los Angeles Kings after leaving the only professional hockey team he had known. For eight seasons, Wayne Gretzky maintained his hall of fame level play while wearing the iconic number 99 as a member of the Kings. While one fan base was disappointed with his departure, the ’Great One’ was capturing a new avid fan base in southern California.

The NHL had each player wear a patch on their jersey throughout the 1992-93 season to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Stanley Cup. The Canadiens won their 24th Stanley Cup championship in the 1993 series against the Los Angeles Kings. Despite the loss in the finals, it was an exciting time in Los Angeles with the star, Wayne Gretzky, joining the team after a successful campaign in Edmonton to bring the Kings to their first Stanley Cup Final appearance. In game 1 of the finals, the Kings traveled to Montreal and beat the Canadiens, 4-1, with goals from Luc Robitaille, Jari Kurri and Gretzky.

The autograph includes an official Upper Deck Authenticated (UDA) hologram and matching COA for authenticity purposes.
