New York Yankees 1951 Commemorative Baseball, an extremely limited-edition baseball personally signed by FOUR members of the fabled 1951 New York Yankees World Series Championship team. Only 251 of these special balls were signed. It was signed by four of the most important players from the Yankees team: Joe DiMaggio, Yogi Berra, Phil Rizzuto and Gil McDougald. DiMaggio signed the ball on the sweet spot while the other players signed their names on the other three panels and then added special annotations about their accomplishments during the 1951 season: Yogi Berra inscribed "MVP 1951" in honor of his being named the 1951 American League Most Valuable Player; Phil Rizzuto inscribed "WS MVP 1951" signifying his being named the 1951 World Series Most Valuable Player; Gil McDougald inscribed "1951 ROY" in honor of being named the 1951 American League Rookie of the Year. The 1951 season was Joe DiMaggio's last year playing for the Yankees and Mickey Mantle’s first season.
