Michael Nelson Trout was the American League MVP in 2014, 2016 and 2019, is an eight-time All-Star, seven-time winner of the Silver Slugger Award and a two-time All-Star Game MVP. He became a regular player for the Angels in 2012, and unanimously won the AL Rookie of the Year Award that year. Trout finished second in AL MVP voting in 2012, 2013, 2015 and 2018. In addition to being named Most Valuable Player in 2014, he won the 2014 AL Hank Aaron Award. He is nicknamed "the Millville Meteor".
