This 1 oz Walking Liberty Copper Round commemorates the artwork featured on Adolph Weinmans half-dollar coin design. Weinmans Walking Liberty design would grace the front of the half-dollar from 1916 to 1947. It went on to become the most well-known of his designs.

On the front of this round is the eponymous Walking Liberty, who is crossing the great plains of America to greet the rising sun. She is attired in a toga bearing the stars and stripes of our flag. In one arm, she clasps a bundle of laurel and oak branches, while she extends the other in a gesture of invitation. The intention of Weinmans design was to reflect both the peace and abundance that this country represents to so many who immigrate here. Also inscribed on this round are the words, Liberty, and the phrase, In God We Trust. The only exception to Weinmans original front design is the omission of the coins mintage date, which used to appear underneath Lady Liberty.

The reverse side of the coin also departs from Weinmans design. In lieu of his perched eagle is a stylized rendition of the heraldic eagle. This rendition features a winged shield with the word USA printed beneath it. Above the winged shield appears our nations flag. To further enhance its patriotic motif, a series of 6 stars appears on the reverse sides border along with the purity and weight of the round.
