Joe DiMaggio played his entire 13-year career for the New York Yankees. He is perhaps best known for his 56-game hitting streak (May 15 - July 16, 1941), a record that still stands. DiMaggio was a three-time MVP winner and an All-Star in each of his 13 seasons. During his tenure with the Yankees, the club won ten American League pennants and nine World Series championships. At the time of his retirement, he ranked fifth in career home runs (361) and sixth in career slugging percentage (.579). He was inducted into theBaseball Hall of Fame in 1955, and was voted the sport's greatest living player in a poll taken during the baseball centennial year of 1969.

Roger Maris played for 12 (1957-1968) seasons on four teams (Indians, Athletics, Yankees and Cardinals). He hit a Major League record 61 home runs during the 1961 season for the New York Yankees, breaking Babe Ruth's single-season record of 60 home runs in 1927. Maris was a two-time American League Most Valuable Player (1960 and 1961), All-Star (1959-1962), and Gold Glove winner (1960).

Harmon Killebrew, nicknamed "The Killer" and "Hammerin' Harmon", was a first baseman, third baseman, and left fielder. During his 22-year career, primarily with the Minnesota Twins, Killebrew was a prolific power hitter who, at the time of his retirement, was second only to Babe Ruth in American League (AL) home runs and was the AL career leader in home runs by a right-handed batter. He was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1984.
