2015-P Australia $2 Mini Koala Gold Coin (PCGS MS69)

2015 ½ Gram Gold Australian Mini Koala Coin is particularly unique because it offers an alteration within the 2015 Koala design. While other coins feature an adult koala in the crook of a tree, this coin design bears only the image of an adult koala in a seated position. Koalas are one of two marsupials unique to the continent and are considered an unofficial symbol of the country.

On the reverse of the coin is the image of an adult koala sitting down. In addition to the koala, there is a “P” mint mark on the coin and the engraving of its weight, purity, and metal content along the bottom.

The obverse side features the standard image of Queen Elizabeth II found on all Perth Mint coins. Designed by artist and sculptor Ian Rank-Broadley, the image includes engravings of the Queen’s name, the nation of issue, year of issue, and the face value of the coin.
