"The Mick" Custom 18" x 24" Dye-Sublimation, Semi-Gloss Print onto Aluminum, with a customized Aluminum Float Backing Frame. Hand-signed by artist James G. Ferrara. The print is a limited edition and has been numbered #12/51.

Mantle started his rookie season wearing number 6. Third baseman Bobby Brown, who wore #6 had been away on military service and resumed wearing it upon his return. Mantle was given #7. And the rest is history.

After Mick was brought up from the minors on August 24,1951 of his rookie season, it wasn't till early September that the Bronx Bombers returned home to Yankee Stadium. On Saturday, September 8, 1951 Mantle hit a 3-run homer against Bob Porterfield of the Senators in the bottom of the 7th. It was his first HR at Yankee Stadium wearing the number 7; the artwork includes the actual look of the scoreboard that day, batting orders, National League matchups, and box score.

James G. Ferrara has taken his dual passion for sports and art to create some of the most powerful images in sports illustration. Memorializing both great figures and unforgettable moments in sports, James has a unique talent for capturing the heart of the game. His work has been featured in The Green Bay Packers Hall, The Yogi Berra Museum and Learning Center, and the private collection of former Green Bay Quarterback Bart Starr.

The lot / autograph(s) includes an official Championship Art COA for authenticity purposes.
