ABOUT THE DESIGN

"Lady Liberty" (obverse) – This design was inspired by John Mercanti's rendition of the Lady Liberty obverse of the United States Mint's Platinum American Eagle coin, first minted in 1997. The eagle was selected due to its long life, great strength, and majestic look and because it was then believed to exist only in North America.
