This award was presented to Ken Stabler by Sports Illustrated in recognition of being names "Back of the Week" in college football. The award was presented for Stabler's performance on October 15, 1966 when Alabama defeated Tennessee 11-10.

Alabama, led by Ken Stabler, completed the 1966 season with a perfect 11-0 season. The certificate remains in the original frame and measures approximately 18" x 17" in size. The frame shows some wear from age. The certificate remains protected and in as issued condition.

Ken Stabler, nicknamed "The Snake", spent his legendary career with the Oakland Raiders (1970–1979), Houston Oilers (1980–1981) and New Orleans Saints (1982–1984). He finished his college career at Alabama with a 28–3–2 record as a starter. In the NFL, Stabler was the 1974 NFL MVP, a 4x Pro Bowl Selection, and won Super Bowl XI.
