Awesome image of the Northern Lights above Bear Lake taken by a U.S. Air Force Senior Airman Joshua Strang in 2006 at Eielson Air Force base, Alaska. This photograph was awarded first place for Picture of the Year, 2006. The lights are the result of solar particles colliding with gases in Earth's atmosphere. Early Eskimos and Indians believed different legends about the Northern Lights, such as they were the souls of animals dancing in the sky or the souls of fallen enemies trying to rise again.

This Limited Edition Fine Art Giclee is printed on acid-free museum quality paper with a hand-torn deckled edge measuring 16.5" x 22".
