Walter Craighead was the business manager of the Chicago Cubs during the late 1910s, overseeing the team’s financial operations. His role included managing payroll, as evidenced by his signature on numerous Cubs payroll checks from 1918. He was also responsible for ticket sales and logistics, notably announcing ticket details for the 1918 World Series, in which the Cubs faced the Boston Red Sox. Craighead played a vital behind-the-scenes role in maintaining the club’s financial stability during a period of wartime challenges and competitive baseball.

Bob O’Farrell was a standout catcher in Major League Baseball from 1915 to 1935, best known for his time with the Chicago Cubs and St. Louis Cardinals. A strong defensive backstop with a solid bat, O’Farrell won the National League MVP Award in 1926 while leading the Cardinals to a World Series championship as both a player and interim manager. Renowned for his ability to handle pitchers and control the running game, he was one of the premier catchers of his era. After his playing career, O’Farrell remained involved in the game as a coach and scout, leaving a lasting legacy in baseball history.
