Cole later served in the China-Burma-India Theater and had a distinguished military career, retiring from the U.S. Air Force as a lieutenant colonel. At the time of his passing, he was the **last surviving Doolittle Raider**, widely honored for his service and sacrifice.

**Brig. Gen. Bill Bower (1917–2011)**

Bill Bower was the **pilot of Plane #12**, which crash-landed in China after successfully bombing Japan. He went on to serve with distinction in the European Theater and later became the commander of a bomber training wing. **Lt. Robert Hite (1920–2015)**
