### **About the AVG Flying Tigers**

The **American Volunteer Group (AVG)**, famously known as the **Flying Tigers**, was a group of American pilots recruited to assist China against Japanese aggression before the U.S. officially entered WWII. Under the leadership of **Claire Lee Chennault**, the AVG was composed of three squadrons of Curtiss P-40 Warhawks, each bearing the distinctive shark-mouth nose art.
