### About Lt. Col. Richard E. Cole:
**Richard Eugene Cole (1915–2019)** served as the **co-pilot to General James H. “Jimmy” Doolittle** aboard the lead B-25 Mitchell bomber (Plane #1) during the **Doolittle Raid on April 18, 1942**. Launching from the aircraft carrier *USS Hornet*, the mission marked America’s first air strike against the Japanese mainland following the attack on Pearl Harbor.
