The Franks and Venetians actually colonized large swaths of Christian Greece. 4/ Mamluk Dynasty, silver dirham Towards the end of the crusades, the Mamluk dynasty was on the rise in Egypt. The Mamluks swept in when everyone else was exhausted from 200 years of fighting and took Jerusalem once and for all.
