John Bolt Signed Cut Signature with Portrait (PSA) WWII Ace 6 Victories

Member of Pappy Boyington's Black Sheep Squadron

Offered is a rare hand-signed cut signature of World War II and Korean War Ace John F. Bolt (1921–2004), executed in pencil. This signature was originally obtained as part of a limited edition Gathering of Eagles lithograph and has been preserved as a cut signature collectible of the highest quality.

John Bolt is distinguished as the only U.S. Marine Corps ace of World War II and the only Marine Corps jet ace of the Korean War, making him one of the most unique figures in American aviation history. Flying the F4U Corsair with Marine Fighter Squadron VMF-214, the famed “Black Sheep Squadron,” under Major Gregory “Pappy” Boyington, Bolt scored six aerial victories in the Pacific Theater. A decade later, during the Korean War, Bolt transitioned to jet combat, flying the F-86 Sabre with the U.S. Air Force on an exchange program, where he achieved an additional six confirmed kills against MiG-15s. His extraordinary dual distinction as an ace in two different wars remains unmatched in Marine Corps history.

For his gallantry and service, Bolt was awarded the Navy Cross, Distinguished Flying Cross, and the Air Medal, among numerous other commendations. His legacy endures as a symbol of courage, adaptability, and excellence in aerial combat.

This autograph is authenticated and encapsulated by PSA/DNA, providing both assurance of authenticity and long-term preservation.
