"Offered is a hand-signed 8x10 photograph by Colonel Clarence Emil “Bud” Anderson (1922–2023), signed in permanent marker on an image featuring a D-Day mission map. The autograph has been authenticated by PSA/DNA and comes with their Certificate of Authenticity, ensuring both authenticity and long-term preservation.

Bud Anderson was one of the most distinguished P-51 Mustang aces of the U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II. Flying with the 357th Fighter Group, the famed “Yoxford Boys,” Anderson completed over 100 combat missions in the European Theater, escorting bombers on long-range raids over Germany and occupied Europe. His skill and leadership in aerial combat earned him 16¼ confirmed aerial victories, making him one of the top Mustang aces of the war.

On June 6, 1944—D-Day— Anderson and the 357th played a critical role in supporting the Allied invasion of Normandy. Flying cover missions to protect the invasion fleet and paratroopers, Anderson contributed to the air supremacy that ensured the success of the landings. Remarkably, throughout his combat career, he was never hit by enemy fire and never lost a wingman in combat.

Following World War II, Anderson remained in the Air Force, serving as a test pilot and later as a senior officer. His memoir, To Fly and Fight, remains a classic account of both the Mustang and the men who flew it. In 2022, he was promoted to honorary brigadier general, capping a lifetime of service and achievement.
