"Presented is a rare hand-signed cut signature of Brigadier General Harold R. Harris (1895–1988), executed in pencil. It is authenticated and encapsulated by PSA/DNA, providing both assurance of authenticity and long-term preservation.

Harold R. Harris was a true pioneer of American aviation. Commissioned as a pilot during World War I, Harris became one of the early combat aviators of the U.S. Army Air Service. After the war, he distinguished himself as a leader and innovator in the formative years of military and commercial flight. In 1922, Harris made history when he became the first American pilot to successfully use a parachute to escape from a disabled aircraft in flight, demonstrating the lifesaving potential of the technology and cementing his place in aviation history.

Harris went on to play a pivotal role in shaping aviation as both a military officer and later as a commercial executive. He served in senior positions with the Army Air Corps and eventually rose to the rank of Brigadier General. His influence extended into civil aviation as well, where his leadership helped advance airline operations and safety practices in the United States.

This hand-signed cut signature is more than a collector’s item—it represents the courage and innovation of an aviator who bridged the gap between the earliest years of military flight and the modern era of aviation.
