"Presented is a hand-signed 3x5 index card by Private First Class Joachim “Jo” Melo (1923–2011), signed in permanent ink. The autograph has been authenticated and encapsulated by PSA/DNA, ensuring both authenticity and long-term preservation.
Joachim Melo served with the legendary Easy Company, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division—the famed “Band of Brothers” whose wartime experiences were immortalized in Stephen Ambrose’s book and the acclaimed HBO miniseries. As part of Easy Company, Melo trained at Camp Toccoa, Georgia, and later parachuted into combat during Operation Market Garden and the bitterly fought Battle of the Bulge in Bastogne.
Melo, like his comrades in Easy Company, endured some of the most grueling conditions of the European Theater, exemplifying the courage, endurance, and brotherhood that came to define the 101st Airborne. His story contributes to the larger narrative of the “Band of Brothers,” a unit whose service and sacrifice became symbolic of the American airborne soldier in World War II.
This signed index card, authenticated and encapsulated by PSA/DNA, represents a rare opportunity to acquire an autograph tied directly to a member of one of the most celebrated combat units in American history.
