Stanley Swede Vejtasa Signed Index Card (PSA) WWII Ace 10 Victories

Served in three wars (WWII, Korea and Vietnam)

"Presented is a hand-signed 3x5 index card by Commander Stanley “Swede” Vejtasa (1914–2013), signed in permanent ink. The autograph has been authenticated and encapsulated by PSA/DNA, ensuring both authenticity and long-term preservation.

Stanley Vejtasa was one of the most extraordinary U.S. Navy aviators of World War II, credited with both fighter and dive-bomber victories—an exceedingly rare distinction. Early in the war, while flying the SBD Dauntless dive-bomber, he earned the Navy Cross for his gallantry at the Battle of the Coral Sea. In one engagement, he shot down three Japanese fighters while defending his carrier group—an incredible feat for a bomber pilot.

Transitioning to fighters, Vejtasa flew the Grumman F4F Wildcat and later the F6F Hellcat, scoring additional victories and establishing himself as a formidable ace. At the Battle of Santa Cruz in October 1942, he downed seven enemy aircraft in a single day, earning a second Navy Cross. By the end of the war, Vejtasa was credited with 10 confirmed kills, making him one of the Navy’s celebrated combat aces.

This signed index card, authenticated and encapsulated by PSA/DNA, offers collectors a direct connection to a Navy legend whose courage and versatility in both bombers and fighters stand as a unique chapter in American aviation history.
