"Offered is a hand-signed 3x5 index card by Lieutenant Colonel William A. Shomo (1918–1990), signed in permanent ink. The autograph has been authenticated and encapsulated by PSA/DNA, ensuring both authenticity and long-term preservation.

William Shomo was a U.S. Army Air Forces fighter pilot in the Pacific Theater of World War II, best remembered for one of the most extraordinary missions of the war. On January 11, 1945, while flying an armed reconnaissance mission over Luzon in the Philippines in his F-6D Mustang (a reconnaissance version of the P-51), Shomo and his wingman encountered a formation of 13 Japanese aircraft. Against overwhelming odds, Shomo engaged the enemy and, in a matter of minutes, shot down seven aircraft single-handedly, while his wingman destroyed three more.

For his heroism and unmatched combat achievement, Shomo was awarded the Medal of Honor, the nation’s highest military decoration. His actions stand as one of the most remarkable examples of aerial combat skill and courage in U.S. military history.

This signed index card, authenticated and encapsulated by PSA/DNA, represents an exceptional opportunity to own the autograph of a Medal of Honor recipient and ace whose name remains legendary in the annals of American air combat.
