The autographs have been authenticated by PSA/DNA and the helmet comes with their Certificate of Authenticity, ensuring both verification and long-term preservation.

The “Game of the Century” was played on November 25, 1971, when No. 1 Nebraska faced No. 2 Oklahoma in Norman. The Cornhuskers triumphed in a thrilling 35–31 victory, cementing their place in history en route to the 1971 National Championship. This helmet unites the signatures of three players who defined that game and that era of Husker dominance.

Jerry Tagge (b. 1950) – The senior quarterback and field general of the Cornhuskers, Tagge was instrumental in guiding Nebraska’s offense through one of its most storied eras. Calm under pressure, Tagge orchestrated key drives during the Game of the Century and capped his career as the only starting quarterback to lead Nebraska to back-to-back national championships (1970 and 1971). He went on to become a first-round draft pick of the Green Bay Packers.

Johnny “The Jet” Rodgers (b. 1951) – A dynamic playmaker, Rodgers delivered the game’s defining moment with his electrifying 72-yard punt return touchdown in the first quarter, giving Nebraska an early spark that shifted momentum. Rodgers’ performance in the Game of the Century exemplified his big-play ability, which later earned him the 1972 Heisman Trophy. He remains one of the most iconic figures in Nebraska football history.

Jeff Kinney (b. 1949) – The rugged running back was Nebraska’s workhorse in the Game of the Century, carrying the ball 31 times for 171 yards and four touchdowns. His relentless running and decisive fourth-quarter touchdown sealed the Huskers’ 35–31 victory. Kinney’s effort is remembered as one of the greatest single-game performances in program history, a testament to his toughness and determination.

This signed mini helmet, authenticated and certified by PSA/DNA, brings together the autographs of three Nebraska legends whose performances in the 1971 Game of the Century defined a dynasty and etched their names into college football lore.
