Pappy Boyington Signed Baa Baa Blacksheep Hard Bound Book (PSA) WWII Ace

Offered is a hardbound edition of Baa Baa Black Sheep, personally hand signed by Colonel Gregory “Pappy” Boyington (1912–1988) in bold ink on the title page. Boyington has added the unique inscription “With Black Sheep One’s Blessings”, an uncommon and desirable phrase from the famed Marine ace. Notably, this copy is not personalized, unlike most of Boyington’s signed books, making it particularly sought after by collectors. The autograph has been authenticated by PSA/DNA and is accompanied by their Letter of Authenticity, ensuring both verification and long-term preservation.

Colonel Gregory “Pappy” Boyington was one of the most colorful and accomplished American fighter aces of World War II, best known as the commander of the Marine Fighter Squadron VMF-214, famously nicknamed the “Black Sheep Squadron.” Flying the F4U Corsair, Boyington was credited with 28 confirmed aerial victories, tying him for the highest-scoring U.S. Marine Corps ace of the war.

After being shot down and captured by the Japanese in January 1944, Boyington endured captivity as a prisoner of war until liberation in 1945. For his extraordinary heroism, leadership, and valor in aerial combat, he was awarded both the Medal of Honor and the Navy Cross.

Originally published in 1958, Baa Baa Black Sheep is Boyington’s candid and compelling autobiography, chronicling his combat experiences, his leadership of the “Black Sheep,” and his unflinching portrayal of wartime life. This uniquely inscribed, non-personalized signed copy—authenticated by PSA/DNA—represents a rare and historically significant piece from one of America’s most legendary fighter aces.
