Presented is a hand-signed 11x14 photograph personally autographed by Lieutenant Colonel William “Bill” Broadwater (1927–2010), a distinguished member of the Tuskegee Airmen, the pioneering African American fighter pilots of World War II. The signature has been authenticated by PSA/DNA and is accompanied by their Certificate of Authenticity, ensuring both verification and long-term preservation.
Lieutenant Colonel William “Bill” Broadwater proudly served as part of the 332nd Fighter Group, famously known as the Tuskegee Airmen or “Red Tails.” Trained at the historic Tuskegee Army Air Field in Alabama, Broadwater and his fellow airmen broke barriers of segregation and discrimination to prove that skill, courage, and patriotism knew no color. The unit’s unmatched professionalism and combat performance became legendary—flying bomber escort missions over Europe and earning the respect of the U.S. Army Air Forces and Allied command.
After World War II, Broadwater continued to dedicate his life to service and leadership. He rose to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Air Force, where he served in various command and operational roles. Following his military career, he became a respected figure in aviation administration, serving as the Deputy Director of Air Traffic Services for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), where he oversaw key modernization initiatives in national airspace management.
Broadwater was an active member of the Tuskegee Airmen, Inc., working tirelessly to preserve the group’s legacy and mentor future generations of aviators. His efforts contributed to the continued recognition of the Tuskegee Airmen’s role in shaping both military history and the civil rights movement.
This PSA/DNA authenticated 11x14 photograph—bearing the bold signature of Lt. Col. Bill Broadwater—serves as a lasting tribute to one of the courageous aviators whose service and determination helped change the course of both aviation and American history.
