Presented is a hand-signed 8x10 aviation art print by renowned military artist Jay Ashurst, personally autographed in ink by Captain Roger Locher, U.S. Air Force F-4 Phantom II pilot and Vietnam War veteran. The signature has been authenticated by PSA/DNA and is accompanied by their Letter of Authenticity, ensuring both verification and long-term preservation.

Captain Roger D. Locher is best known for his extraordinary heroism, resilience, and survival during the Vietnam War. Serving as a weapons systems officer (WSO) in the 555th Tactical Fighter Squadron (“Triple Nickel”), 8th Tactical Fighter Wing, Locher flew the McDonnell Douglas F-4D Phantom II alongside Major Robert Lodge, one of the Air Force’s top aces.

On May 10, 1972, during Operation Linebacker, Locher and Lodge engaged enemy MiGs near Hanoi and scored a victory before their F-4 was struck by enemy fire. Lodge was killed in the ejection, but Locher parachuted into hostile territory deep inside North Vietnam. For the next 23 days, Locher survived alone behind enemy lines—evading capture, rationing meager supplies, and navigating treacherous terrain—until he managed to contact a U.S. aircraft. His rescue, conducted by an extraordinary deep-penetration combat search-and-rescue mission involving over 150 aircraft, remains one of the most daring and successful recoveries in Air Force history.

For his courage and endurance, Roger Locher was awarded the Silver Star, Distinguished Flying Cross, and Air Medal, and his story became one of the most inspiring accounts of survival and brotherhood in American aviation.

Following his return, Locher continued to serve honorably, later contributing to flight operations and pilot training programs within the U.S. Air Force.

This signed 8x10 Jay Ashurst print—authenticated by PSA/DNA—pays tribute to a man whose bravery, skill, and will to survive exemplify the finest traditions of American airmen in combat.
