The autograph has been authenticated by PSA/DNA and comes with their Letter of Authenticity, ensuring both verification and long-term preservation.

Born in Korea to missionary parents and raised in Texas, David “Tex” Hill began his military career as a U.S. Navy pilot before joining the AVG in 1941 under the command of Claire L. Chennault. Flying the distinctive Curtiss P-40 Warhawk adorned with the iconic shark mouth nose art, Hill quickly distinguished himself for his fearless flying and expert marksmanship.

During his combat service with the Flying Tigers in China and Burma, Hill achieved 12.25 confirmed aerial victories, earning a reputation as one of the AVG’s top-scoring aces. He later transferred to the U.S. Army Air Forces, where he commanded the 23rd Fighter Group, continuing the Flying Tigers’ legacy and adding to his combat record.

For his exceptional leadership and valor, Hill received numerous decorations, including the Distinguished Service Cross, Silver Star, and Distinguished Flying Cross. After the war, he remained active in aviation and public service, remembered as both a warrior and an ambassador of the Flying Tigers’ enduring spirit.
