Offered for auction is an exceptional **18x24 canvas print**, **personally hand signed in permanent marker** by four pioneering **World War II Women’s Airforce Service Pilots (WASP)** — **Anna Mankiewicz, Nell Bright, Bernice ""Bee"" Haydu, and Shutsy Reynolds**. This powerful tribute to the legacy of the WASP program is **authenticated by PSA/DNA Authentication Services** and includes their **Letter of Authenticity**.
Anna Mankiewicz
Anna Flynn Mankiewicz served as one of the proud members of the WASP, contributing to ferrying aircraft across the U.S. and training male pilots for overseas deployment. Her commitment to service helped redefine the role of women in aviation and national defense.
Nell Bright
A trailblazer in the skies, Nell Bright served with distinction as a ferry pilot, logging thousands of miles across the continental United States. She was an advocate for recognizing the contributions of women in military aviation and played an active role in educating future generations about the legacy of the WASP.
Bernice ""Bee"" Haydu
Bernice Haydu trained at Avenger Field in Sweetwater, Texas, and was assigned to ferrying and test pilot duties during the war. After WWII, she became one of the most vocal champions for WASP veterans, helping secure veteran status for the group in 1977. In 2009, she accepted the **Congressional Gold Medal** on behalf of the WASPs.
Shutsy Reynolds
Florene ""Shutsy"" Reynolds served in the WASP program as both a pilot and engineer, continuing her aviation career in civilian and military roles after the war. She remained a passionate advocate for WASP recognition and historical preservation until her passing.
Formed in **1942**, the **Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASP)** was a pioneering organization of civilian women pilots who were employed to fly military aircraft under the direction of the United States Army Air Forces. These courageous women flew over **60 million miles**, ferrying planes, towing targets for live anti-aircraft training, and testing aircraft — all while facing societal skepticism and without military benefits.
In 1977, thanks to the persistent advocacy of WASP alumni, Congress finally granted the WASPs **military veteran status**, and in 2009, they were collectively awarded the **Congressional Gold Medal**, one of the highest civilian honors in the United States.
