Custom frame measures 16” x 25” in size and features a full admission ticket to the September 7, 1892 World Heavyweight Championship match between titleholder John L. Sullivan and challenger James J. Corbett, held at the famed Olympic Club in New Orleans that has been graded PSA 2. Display also includes (3) photos for fight promotion.

The **Sullivan–Corbett fight of 1892** took place on September 7 at the Olympic Club in New Orleans and marked a turning point in boxing history. **John L. Sullivan**, the last major bare-knuckle champion and the dominant heavyweight of his era, entered the ring undefeated and relying on his famed power and toughness. His challenger, **James J. “Gentleman Jim” Corbett**, represented a newer, more scientific style of boxing that emphasized footwork, defensive movement, and precise punching under the Marquess of Queensberry rules, which required gloves and formalized rounds.

Over the course of **21 rounds**, Corbett used speed and agility to evade Sullivan’s attacks, gradually wearing down the older champion with accurate counters. Sullivan tired as the bout dragged on, while Corbett maintained control until he finally knocked Sullivan out in the 21st round, becoming the new heavyweight champion. The match symbolized the end of the bare-knuckle era and the rise of modern, technical boxing, making it one of the most historically significant fights in the sport’s development.
