Evaluation: 030-26 Mad Magazine 1970

This vibrant composition features the original July 1970 cover of Mad Magazine No. 136, a classic parody of "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid." Created by Mark Lewis great-grand-nephew of MLB legend Cy Young - this work seamlessly integrates American satire with modern abstract expressionism. The vintage cover is framed by an explosive burst of fiery oranges, deep reds, and forest greens, punctuated by sharp black splatters and white highlights. Painted directly onto premium acrylic glass, the piece achieves a luminous 3D depth where the energetic paint strokes appear to float over the archival magazine center. This work offers a rare opportunity to own a piece that bridges pop-culture history with a storied American lineage.
