Chicago Cubs Wrigley Field "Opening Day" 1978 serigraph measures 20" x 24" in size and has been hand-signed by William Stebbins. Limited Edition AP #6/10.
The excitement is building at Clark and Addison in Chicago, the Chicago Cubs opening day at Wrigley Field April 14th, 1978 against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
The crowd is waiting to enter the hallowed Ivy covered grounds of Wrigley Field. Artist William Stebbins (D.2006) captures the feel and excitement of the event, in this 1978 limited edition hand drawn on and screened serigraph on archival CSW PAPER, published by Chicago Serigraphic Workshop. This is a rare artist proof #6/10.
Stebbins was an award winning artist from Chicago Illinois, who was contracted for many commercial pieces including a rendering of Wrigley Field for the Chicago Cubs baseball organization. William "Bill" Stebbins passed on November 16th, 2006. In addition he was a gifted abstract painter who sold in galleries nationally.
