Marvel's first major crossover "The Avengers" appeared in 1963 with a roster consisting of Ant-Man, the Hulk, Iron Man, Thor, and the Wasp. Created by writer Stan Lee and artist Jack Kirby, the Avengers proved to be a major success with several roster changes and comic iterations over the years. Recently, Marvel Studios has adapted the comic into a film series with the most recent film "Avengers: Infinity War" currently at a worldwide box office total of $2,021,970,014 making it the fourth highest grossing movie of all time.
