Larry Bird vs. Magic Johnson was a rivalry in the 1980s that everyone was talking about. They met 3 times in the Finals (with Magic winning 2 of them) The start of this rivalry really began in the 1979 NCAA Tournament when Magic’s Michigan St. team beat Larry Bird’s undefeated Indiana St. team in the championship game. They would go on to have physical battles over the course of a decade and their rivalry ultimately become a friendship and now the 2 have become synonymous with one another.
