"A tribute to Leonardo da Vinci's "Mona Lisa", Greg Matsey captures the grandeur of social-media sensation Fiona the hippo in his recent release of "Fiona Lisa". Fiona was born at the Cincinnati Zoo in Cincinnati, Ohio, on January 24th 2017. Her premature birth and extraordinary story of survival has captured the hearts of millions around the globe.

-Medium: Canvas mixed media giclee print has hand painted acrylic details and gel texture added. Canvas material is wrapped on 1-1/2" wooden frame with a dark brown faux wood finish on the sides. Canvas is an open-ended edition with artist signature and date on back. Each canvas has wire installed on the back for easy hanging.

ARTIST BIO:

Greg Matsey grew up in St. Leon, Indiana with a clear vision to pursue creative work from a young age. He spent a year at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana studying fine art and design. He then transferred and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Antonelli College in Cincinnati, Ohio with a Commercial Art degree.

Using a mixture of painting techniques similar to post-impressionism artists, Vincent Van Gogh and Georges Seurat; Greg has painted a series of pointillism paintings to pay tribute to their original masterpieces, ""Starry Night"" and ""Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grand Jatte"". He also has a spontaneous realism style and loves to experiment and try new things with his artwork.

Today he lives in Cincinnati, Ohio with his wife and their three children. His day job consists of developing marketing collateral and maintaining brand standards as Art Director for JobsOhio in Columbus, Ohio.

You can find Greg’s original paintings and prints at Art on the Levee in Newport Kentucky, Yust Gallery in Columbia Tusculum, Fabulous Frames & Art, Framing by Faith, The Framing Company and several other gift and frame shops throughout the Tri-State area. He can be found showing at Art on Vine, WestSide Market, Art on the Levee, and the Annual Duveneck Art Show. Greg's artwork is also in the homes of collectors living in Arizona, Florida, Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, Texas, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Louisiana, New Mexico and China."
