Rawlings Official American League baseball has been hand-signed and hand-painted in black felt-tip pen by artist LeRoy Neiman (D. 2012). the baseball

After Derek Jeter led off the Game 4 World Series, October 25, 2000, with a Home Run on the first pitch… Leroy wanted to draw him as he said that this would be the turning point of the game. Leroy Neiman hand drew this unique on of a kind baseball. He did a series of hand-drawn baseballs. He really liked the challenge of capturing the image on the baseball and found creative ways to make it work. He went to most Mets Opening Days, since this is where LeRoy could be on the field doing his work. LeRoy drew many of these at the game, some in the car on the way to the game, and others at his studio. When he had the time, he drew his Femlin and self-portraits on balls. This was originally given to Charlie McCabe who was the officer in charge of marketing and Communications at Manufacturers Hanover (which became Chemical, Chase and, finally, JP Morgan Bank).

The lot / autograph(s) includes an official PSA/DNA hologram and matching LOA as well as an official James Spence Authentication (JSA) hologram and matching LOA for authenticity purposes.
