The folklore surrounding the famous called shot is a debate that goes back almost a century ago. Was he pointing to the spot where he hit the home run or was he just simply pointing at the pitcher (Charlie Root) and by coincidence hit it to where he pointed it? The plaque below the art print of the called shot reads:

"October 1st, 1932 World Series Yankees vs Cubs Babe Ruth while at the plate being harassed by the Cubs bench and fans pointed to the center field calling his shot on the next pitch he hit a mammoth home run exactly where he pointed off of Chicago Cubs pitcher Charlie Root"

The truth is still up for debate.

This piece really and truly speaks for itself. The Babe Ruth signature is one of the largest known Ruth examples in existence. This signature does not look so imposing with pictures as they do not do it justice. However, the Babe signed, "From, Babe Ruth" which spans nearly the length of a us currency bill. It is also very bold and draws your attention straight to it even with the other important pieces to the collaboration.

1932 Type 2 baseball card of Babe Ruth graded by SGC as 40.

Then we go to the pitcher who threw the ball to Babe during the famous at bat, Charlie Root. There is an encapsulated signed government postcard of Charlie Root.

Finally, we have the 1933 Goudey Charlie Root baseball card that has been graded by PSA as a 4.

Please note that the world series ticket stub that is in the display is a replica ticket."

The lot / autograph(s) includes an official James Spence Authentication (JSA) hologram and matching LOA as well as an encapsulation by PSA/DNA for authenticity purposes.
