Custom framed U.S. patent measures 32" x 34" in size. Hand-signed in ink pen by "Thomas Alva Edison" (D. 1931) and notarized the Twenty Eighth day of October, 1882.

This Extraordinary U.S. Patent reads in part:

"I claim as my invention, the combination with dynamo or magneto electric machine supplying lamps or other translating devices located in derived or multiple are circuits..."

This historic document was witnessed and counter signed by Henry Wessells "H.W." Seely, who witnessed several of Edison's most important patent signings, including his patent for the early Electric Incandescent Lamp just 4 days earlier.

This piece includes the original diagram drawing of the magneto machine that supplies electric to his lamps, which was submitted along with his patent application

This is a United States patent application signed by Thomas Edison, the great inventor, who helped develop the technology that brought the light bulb to the masses and made it more affordable to purchase. Thomas Alva Edison's 1882 U.S. Patent for improvements of the Magneto Electric Machine, used to supply power to his recently invented Incandescent Electric Lamp.

While it's become somewhat common knowledge that Edison filed for many patents in different countries worldwide, his United States patents are by far the most scarce to ever become available to the public, since most are considered priceless American treasures in museums. Any patents, like this, pertaining to his most famous invention - the electric lamp - are of course the most disireable.

The lot / autograph(s) includes an official PSA/DNA hologram and matching LOA for authenticity purposes.
