The 1968-69 New York Jets finished the Regular Season 11-3 before heading into the playoffs. In the first round they beat the Oakland Raiders 27-23 to advance to Super Bowl III before knocking off the Baltimore Colts 16-7 at the Orange Bowl January 12, 1969.

The Super Bowl On the Fifty Commemorative helmet features a white shell with the official Super Bowl On the Fifty chrome decal on both sides of the helmet, top stripes that include logos from the past 49 Super Bowls, and a metallic silver face mask.
