The Queen’s Beasts series draws inspiration from hundreds of years of royal power and lineage. This collection honors the ten beasts that stood guard during the coronation of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II in 1953. The White Horse of Hanover connects Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II to Georg Ludwig from Hanover, Germany. Later, he was known as George (Louis) I and was the first Hanoverian ruler for the British monarchy. The official Coat of Arms of Hanover was brought along for this journey. It was originally a white horse against a red background, known in Germany as the "Sachsenross". This symbol later added the shield-bearing quadrants that represented the unity of the royal bloodlines. The quadrants carry the three lions of England, the lion of Scotland, the fleur-de-lis of France, the Irish harp, and the Arms for Hanover. After George I, there were six more Hanoverian rulers from his line who ruled "Great Britain and Ireland", then "The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland."

The obverse showcases the elegant portrait of Queen Elizabeth II wearing her crown and jewels.

The reverse of this coin features the White Horse of Hanover, rearing back on its hind legs while bearing a shield segmented by four quadrants. This design pays tribute to Georg Ludwig from Hanover, Germany.
