Jackie Robinson Commemorative Coin Progam with Gold Five Dollar Coin, Vintage Pin, Card, & Patch

This set includes the 1997 W Jackie Robinson Commemorative Proof Gold $5 Coin, a specially authorized reproduction of the 1952 Topps Jackie Robinson baseball card, a full-color limited edition lapel pin, a Jackie Robinson 50th anniversary patch, and a Certificate of Authenticity, all packaged in a beautiful keepsake cherrywood case.

The Topps "Finest" card - the only baseball card to bear the United States Mint seal - is available only in the Legacy Set. The full-color limited edition lapel pin, made exclusively for the Mint, duplicates the 50th Anniversary uniform patch being worn by all Major League Baseball players for the 1997 season.

This historic $5 gold half eagle US west point mint commemorates the 50th anniversary of the first acceptance of a black player in a major league baseball game. Just 5,174 Uncirculated coins were released – the lowest of all modern U.S. commemoratives – making it a key date for the series. The obverse by T. James Ferrell depicts Jack "Jackie" Robinson in his later years. James Peed’s reverse shows a baseball inscribed 1919-1972 (Robinson’s birth and death years) and legacy of courage.
