He rose to fame in the late 1980s and early 1990s as a founding member of Guns N' Roses, which also included Axl Rose (vocals), Duff McKagan (bass), Izzy Stradlin (rhythm guitar), and Steven Adler (drums). The band achieved massive success with their debut album, "Appetite for Destruction" (1987), which remains one of the best-selling albums of all time. The album featured hits like "Sweet Child o' Mine," "Welcome to the Jungle," and "Paradise City."

In 1996, Slash left Guns N' Roses and pursued a solo career.
