Mike Alstott, a former NFL fullback, is remembered as one of the most punishing and versatile players of his era. Born on December 21, 1973, in Joliet, Illinois, Alstott played college football at Purdue University, where he excelled as a running back.

Drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the second round of the 1996 NFL Draft, Alstott quickly became a fan favorite with his hard-nosed playing style and ability to break tackles. He was a key player in the Buccaneers' offense, known for his powerful running and knack for finding the end zone.

Alstott's best season came in 1999 when he was named to the Pro Bowl and helped lead the Buccaneers to the NFC Championship Game. Throughout his career, he was known for his versatility, often lining up at fullback, running back, and even tight end, showcasing his blocking and receiving skills.

Off the field, Alstott was known for his humility and commitment to the community. He established the Mike Alstott Family Foundation, which provides assistance to various charitable organizations and programs.

In 2007, Alstott announced his retirement from the NFL after a career that spanned 12 seasons. He finished his career with over 7,000 total yards and 71 touchdowns, leaving a lasting legacy as one of the greatest fullbacks in NFL history.
