Hank Aaron, born on February 5, 1934, in Mobile, Alabama, was a legendary American baseball player who made an indelible mark on the sport. He played the majority of his 23-year Major League Baseball (MLB) career with the Milwaukee/Atlanta Braves franchise (1954–1974) before finishing with the Milwaukee Brewers (1975–1976).

Aaron's career was defined by his remarkable hitting prowess and consistency. He held numerous MLB records, including most career home runs (755), most career runs batted in (RBIs) (2,297), and most career extra-base hits (1,477) at the time of his retirement. Aaron's most celebrated achievement came on April 8, 1974, when he surpassed Babe Ruth's longstanding record of 714 career home runs, solidifying his place in baseball history.

Beyond his statistical achievements, Aaron faced racial discrimination and hostility during his career, particularly as he approached Ruth's home run record. Despite the challenges, Aaron remained steadfast, displaying grace and dignity both on and off the field.

After retiring as a player, Aaron remained involved in baseball as an executive, community leader, and ambassador for the game. He received numerous honors throughout his life, including induction into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1982. Aaron passed away on January 22, 2021, leaving behind a lasting legacy as one of baseball's greatest players and an influential figure in American sports history.
