Rare Dilbert Animation Production Cel Set-Up with Background. Signed by Creator Scott Adams with a special Remarque drawing and a Dilbert Animation Art Program Seal. Dilbert is shown with his co-workers in this scene from Dilbert. The first episode of Dilbert was broadcast on January 25, 1999, and was UPN's highest-rated comedy series premiere at that point in the network's history; it lasted two seasons with thirty episodes on UPN and won a Primetime Emmy. Produced by Adelaide Productions, Idbox, and United Media and distributed by Columbia TriStar Television. Production cels are the one-of-a-kind original cels that were used in the creation of an animated film or television show. Each has been hand-painted by studio artists on a piece of celluloid acetate, and has been photographed over a background painting to create a frame of the finished production. In this set-up, the background is a laser copy for presentation purposes. Production cels are highly sought after by collectors.

Measures 12.5" x 10.5". Please note each character is on a separate cel, and are all taped to the background image. SRP $695

Scott Raymond Adams (born June 8, 1957) is the creator of the Dilbert comic strip and the author of several nonfiction works of satire, commentary, business, and general speculation. Adams has received recognition for his work, including the National Cartoonist Society Reuben Award and Newspaper Comic Strip Award for 1997 for his work on Dilbert. His Dilbert series came to national prominence through the downsizing period in 1990s America and was then distributed worldwide. Adams worked in various roles at big businesses before he became a full- time cartoonist in 1995. He writes in a satirical, often sarcastic, way about the social and mental landscape of white-collar workers in modern business corporations. In the 2016 U.S. presidential election, Adams drew attention for his early prediction that Donald Trump would win in a "landslide." Due to the popularity of the comic strip, Dilbert became and animated television show. The first episode was broadcast on January 25, 1999, and was UPN's highest-rated comedy series premiere at that point in the network's history; it lasted two seasons with thirty episodes on UPN and won a Primetime Emmy. Produced by Adelaide Productions, Idbox, and United Media and distributed by Columbia TriStar Television.
