Buster Posey is an American professional baseball catcher for the San Francisco Giants of Major League Baseball. He stands 6 feet 1 inch (1.85 m) tall and weighs 220 pounds (100 kg). He bats and throws right-handed. Posey has also filled in at first base for the Giants.

As a rookie, Buster Posey finished with a .305 batting average, 18 home runs, and 67 runs batted in. He was named the National League (NL) Rookie of the Year. He caught every inning of the playoffs as the Giants won the 2010 World Series.

In 2012 Posey posted a .336 batting average to win the 2012 NL batting title. He became the second San Francisco Giant to win the batting title and was named the NL Most Valuable Player for 2012. He won his second World Series that year as the Giants swept the Detroit Tigers in four games. He won his third World Series the following year as the Giants defeated the Kansas City Royals.
